Poole Missional Communities is part of a wider movement that is exploring new forms of church for our changing culture. We are looking to network ecumenically and build learning communities of local pioneers and their teams to enable ongoing learning for those planting fresh expressions of church. We are also looking to multiply some of the successful models of mission that we have experimented with over the past few years, in particular missional community and Space for Life.
We have established a Learning Community for lay pioneers and their teams to offer ongoing support and learning for those starting and sustaining new forms of church. The Learning Community meets 3 times each year and team leaders are also offered 1:1 coaching between each meeting.
Breathing Spaces started in 2016 with a grant from the Aldhelm Mission Fund. It is designed to work with others to apply the success of Space for Life. Breathing Spaces will look to create similar communities and explore the use of quiet days and spiritual direction amongst those seeking faith.
We are also looking to use the missional community model pioneered by Reconnect to help engage with other contexts in Poole. We are currently focusing on connecting with young adults and working with a group on Turlin Moor as they explore the possibility of becoming a missional community there. A series of workshops are planned to inspire others in exploring the missional community model.
