About the event
Please note that the advertised date on May 25th is the first session. Subsequent sessions are on June 8th, June 15th, June 22nd and July 6th. All are at 2 - 3pm. The same ticket gives you access to all 5 dates.Â
Session titles:
1. The Buildings have a Ministry?Â
2. Tradition and Innovation
3. Church, place, time and community.Â
4. Wilding the Church
5. Small, Simple, Slow, Sent, Serving - 5 principles for future church.
Over these 5 online sessions there will a chance to engage with and discuss material on themes of church decline, worship and witness in a secular age, the relationship between tradition and innovation, the challenges of modernist church forms, the possiblities for missional community alongside congregational forms. These conversations are designed to give space for anyone grappling with some of the difficult questions we face as the church in the west, in ways that will give space for imagination and ideas to emerge.
Before each session you will receive a pdf with some reading and some questions for reflection. Each session will involve a short presentation, a group discussion and final plenary. The presentations will also be recorded in case you can't make a session.Â
